What
if you found out that you had only 30 days to live?
Would you have any regrets? What if you came to the
end of your life and while saying “Good-bye” would
be difficult, you had the peace of knowing you had
lived well? The membership at Mount Horeb United
Methodist Church in Lexington is getting ready to
undertake a six-week challenge to learn what it
means to make the most of your time on earth.
The
One Month to Live campaign will begin on August 23,
2009 and will include six different messages. “We
will discuss how to focus on what you care about
most, how to stop wasting precious time, and how to
be the person God intended you to be,” said Jeff
Kersey, Senior Pastor at Mount Horeb. The
entire church will be hearing these messages during
the services and adults are invited to participate
in small group discussions surrounding this topic.
“This
series is based on the book, One Month to Live:
Thirty Days to a No-Regrets Life, by Kerry and
Chris Shook,” Kersey continued. “We started out
thinking of this program for the small group
ministries in our church. I believe it is much
bigger than that, and we want to open this
opportunity up to anyone in Lexington or the Greater
Columbia area,” Kersey concluded.
