PARENTS OF ELEMENTARY
CHILDREN
During the month of July all elementary leaders will
take some time off for vacation. What does this mean
for you as parents? Parents of Kindergarteners and
First Graders will drop off and pick up their
children in room 2206. Parents of Second through
Fifth Graders will drop off and pick up their
children in the Fellowship Hall. The best part of
this for you as parents is that we invite you to
join us by coming along side our children in their
environment on Sunday mornings. This will allow our
leaders to enjoy a time of rest and an opportunity
for you to experience the fun of L.I.F.E. Kids for
yourselves! Please contact Vicki Reke for more
information at
vicki@mthorebumc.com
or at 359-3495.
Also, please mark
your calendars for Promotion Sunday, August 8th!

5 record, which was their best finish in the last 4

actions on and off the field. Congratulations!!

IN NEED OF CHURCH
MICE
Have you wanted to volunteer but kind of want to
sneak in and sneak out at a time that suits your
schedule? We have the perfect ministry for you! Each
week, we have volunteers that tidy the sanctuary by
going through pew pads, checking to see that pencils
are sharpened, etc. You will be rotating with other
volunteers and might only help a couple of months
out of the year. For more information or to sign-up,
call the church office.
HELPING HANDS CRAFTERS
This group would like to thank those who have
contributed materials, thread, yarn, and other
supplies to our efforts. Almost 200 pew dolls have
already gone with mission trips this year. Also,
several hundred pillows have been made for Dorn VA
Hospital in Columbia. We hope that you will continue
to contribute or come and join us on Wednesday
mornings.
ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A
"SWEET" PLACE TO SERVE?
"Cookie time" is
the social time held in the Family Life Center (aka
- gym), between 10:00 and 10:30 on Sunday mornings.
We are look for some people to serve in this very
important ministry area. Here is a description of
the task:
* Serve by filling cookie trays (no, you don't
have to make them), make coffee (we provide
training), smile, and help with clean up.
* Work with a team of 3-5 members once every 6
weeks from 9:00-10:40 on Sunday mornings.
For more information, or to get on the
schedule, please email Pat Garrison at
Pat.Garrison@PalmettoHealth.org
or Claire Andrews (claire@mthorebumc.com)
or you can call the church office at 359-3495
to volunteer.
GETHSEMANE MINISTRY
The Gethsemane Ministry
needs volunteers to check church doors around 9:00 pm, which only takes
about 15 minutes. We also need subs for this ministry. If you would like
to help or need further information, please call Jeff Cox at 359-3495.

CHRIST CARING FOR PEOPLE THROUGH PEOPLE
That's the motto of Stephen Ministry. The Stephen
Minister's role is to bring God's love into the lives of people who are
going through a difficult time or are experiencing a crisis. What do
Stephen Ministers do? They listen to you, care for you, support and
encourage you, and pray with and for you. And in the midst of this
confidential, one-to-one, caring relationship, God's healing love comes
pouring through. If you, or someone you know, is facing a crisis - large
or small - and could benefit from the caring presence of a Stephen
Minister, talk to one of our Stephen Leaders: Gary Goodman at
600-7739 or Valli Johnson at 261-7212. Our Stephen Ministers are ready
to care for you!
OPEN YOUR HEART AND HOME...
and open up a whole world of possibilities by

Japan, Mexico or one of 75 different countries around the globe. Help an

difference!
