GIRL SCOUTS REACH OUT

Palmetto Place Children's Shelter as it's community service project this
year. You can help by donating the following items: paper towels,
Kleenex, toilet tissue, zip lock bags (all sizes), sample size hotel
items (soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion), hand sanitizer or baby
wipes. There is a box located in the Narthex for your donations. We
appreciate your kindness!
HISPANIC BUS MINISTRY
Child Youth Protection Trained (CYPT)
volunteers are needed to ride the bus on Sunday mornings to pick up
families in need of transportation to the 10:30 service. These volunteer

and serve as the "second adult" to ensure compliance with our Child
Protection Policy. The bus leaves from Mt. Horeb between 9:00-9:15
arriving back on campus at approximately 10:00. For the return trip, the
bus leaves immediately following the 10:30 service and returns by around
12:15. Interested? Please contact Lesa at

ALTAR
FLOWER MINISTRY?
Did you know that
the beautiful flowers you see on the altar each weekend are a member
ministry?
Each week throughout the year,
someone signs up to provide those flowers that enhance the beauty of our
worship experience. If you would like to be a part of this ministry and
reserve altar flowers for one or more weekends in 2010, you may do so by
signing up on the Flower Calendar located in the Narthex. If you are
interested, please contact Maria at 359-3495 or
Maria@mthorebumc.com
On Monday a team divides the altar flowers from Sunday and make beautiful
arrangements to take to members who are shut-ins, hospitalized or in
nursing homes. Small sized vases are needed each week, so if you
have any lying around the house that you would like to donate, they
would be greatly appreciated. You may bring them to the Administrative
offices. Thank you!!!
THE HEART OF THE MATTER
Give or Go: The Haiti Children
Project Orphan Relief Fund has been set up. You can mail in donations or
go on line at
www.haitichildrenproject.org .
Note: "Haiti Disaster Relief Fund" with your donation. This is a 501c3
organization so your gift is tax deductible. We will never lose focus of
the great commission in our response and service to the
the neediest and most desperate people on this planet. We will
make sure you have an opportunity, if you desire, to travel and get
hands on this situation with whatever talent God has given you. 100% of
any donation will go directly to relief aid. The recovery will be long
and slow. The trips will not be as first responders, but as long term
relief workers throughout 2010. Once again, pray, and consider
how God will use you in this relief effort and sign in at
www.haitichildrenproject.org.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO DELIVER MEALS
TO SHUT-INS
Did you know that each Wednesday
evening, meals are delivered to shut-ins? God has richly blessed this
ministry and it has shown great growth. Along with that growth comes the
need for more volunteers to deliver meals. If you would like to help; if
you would like to receive true joy, please contact Patt Kleckley at
msmural@aol.com
CHRIST CARING FOR PEOPLE THROUGH PEOPLE
That's the motto of Stephen Ministry.
The Stephen Minister's role is to bring God's love into the lives of
people who are going through a difficult time or experiencing a crisis.
What do Stephen Ministers do? They listen to you, care for you,
support and encourage you, and pray with and for you. And in the midst
of this confidential one-to-one, caring relationship, God's healing love
comes pouring through. If you, or someone you know, is facing a
crisis - large or small - and could benefit from the caring presence of
a Stephen Minister, talk to one of our Stephen Leaders: Gary Goodman
at 600-7739 or Valli Johnson. Our Stephen
Ministers are ready to care for you!
A LITTLE RAY OF SUNSHINE
Would you be willing
to take a moment to provide a little sunshine to one of our homebound
members? Please consider sending a card of encouragement to let
them know that we care and are praying for them. Call the church
office for this week's member.
LICS

LICS is in need of jelly, pork and beans, canned
pasta, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, laundry and
dish detergent. If you would like to donate some
of these items, there is a grocery cart located in

donations. Thank you!!
RESPITE
