The Children’s Ministry at Mt. Horeb is called L.I.F.E. Kids.  Its mission is to make followers of Jesus Christ by Letting Him In, In Him Growing, For Him Serving, and Enthusiastically Sharing Him with Others. 

 At Mt. Horeb we believe the single most important thing we will ever teach our children is to know Jesus Christ because in the end, nothing else matters.  Our children's ministry includes dynamic weekly programming for children of all ages. Please read through the various programs offered and plan to join us at a time that meets the needs of your family!

L.I.F.E. KIDS on the Week-ends 

 Infants and Toddlers (infant-age 2)

The goal of L.I.F.E. in the nursery is to help children discover God at an early age.  Babies between 6 weeks and 12 months are cared for and prayed over by nurturing volunteers.  Toddlers (1-2 year olds) enjoy learning about God through music, storytelling, and group activities. Saturday evenings from 5:45-7:00 pm; Sunday mornings at 8:00, 9:00, and 10:30 am.

 Preschoolers (3’s and 4’s)

L.I.F.E. Place is designed specifically for children ages 3-4 (and those 5 year olds who have not yet started kindergarten).  This program provides age appropriate experiences through interactive storytelling, lively music, and small group activities to reinforce the lesson.  Children are able to learn who God is and how much He loves and cares for each of us. Saturday evenings from 5:45-7:00 pm; Sunday mornings from 9:00 -10:00 am and 10:30-11:30 am. 

Kindergarten-5^th grade

L.I.F.E. Time is our week-end program for kids in K-5th grade.  Kids join together in age appropriate large groups for instruction by gifted teachers.  In order to reach kids with the exciting message of the Bible, we strive to present biblical truths in a creative and engaging way.  These kids will hear Bible story truths presented in a variety of methods.  These include different creative teaching techniques, lively worship, drama, visual graphics, surprises, games and fun activities that vary from week to week.  Each element supports the one key point that is being communicated for that day.  In addition, kids participate in a grade level small group that will help them apply biblical truths to their lives. Saturday evenings from 5:45-7:00 pm; Sunday mornings from 9:00 -10:00  and 10:30-11:30.

6^TH Grade

The Edge, our unique, stand alone 6th grade ministry, is a cool and fun place for 6th graders to hang out, fellowship, and grow in their relationship with God.  This ministry was created to address the unique life stage of 6th graders….they are no longer “kids” and are just on “the edge” of youth ministry.  Kids come and bring their friends to what they consider to be a cool place to get closer to God and to each other. The Edge meets Sunday’s from 10:30-11:30.   6th graders are encouraged to attend the 9:00 worship service where they can sit together with their leaders.   At 10:30, following worship, they meet in their  “space” known as The Edge for teaching designed especially for them and the life experiences they will encounter as 6th graders.

Special Needs children and young adults

L.I.F.E. Kids for children and young adults with special needs meets on Sunday mornings from 10:30 -11:30.  They participate in a time of lively worship followed by an interactive Bible teaching time designed especially for them. Sunday mornings from 10:30-11:30 Preschool aged kids with special needs may join our L.I.F.E. Place classes and a special buddy will assigned to assist, if needed. Please see a L.I.F.E. L.I.F.E. KIDS On Wednesdays

Kids ages 3-6^th grade meet in age/grade level classrooms for small group fellowship, combined with in-depth Bible study, prayer and FUN!  A nursery is provided for infants and toddlers.  Classes start August 26^th and meet from 6:00-7:30.  Dinner is served beginning at 5:00pm for $4.00/adult, $3.00/children with a $12.00 maximum per family.

 L.I.F.E. KIDS Choirs and Music

On Wednesday nights, kids have the opportunity to participate in choirs led by the music department staff and volunteers. The Children’s Music Department will also be offering “Vocal Ensembles” for 3^rd—5^th graders this Fall on Sunday afternoon/evening.  These groups will learn to read music and sing harmonies in a small ensemble and will sing at various times throughout the year both at the church and in the community. 

L.I.F.E. KIDS Events 

Annual children's events include a dynamic Vacation Bible School including AM, PM, and Afternoon sessions, Pumpkin Patch Festival: a Halloween alternative event, Joy Jam: a family Christmas Event, and Marketplace: an Easter Event that transports families back in time to experience life as Jesus and his followers would have.
